Fwd: U11, U12 & U13 Mini-tournament

On Saturday 6 June we held a mini 6-a-side tournament up at Liddington. There were teams from Simon's U11's Shaun's U13's and two teams from the U12's. The U13's eventually ran out winners with a 2-0 win against the U12B side in the final. There was some really good football played with some exiting matches. Big thanks to Paul Makin who marked the pitch and Phil Lester for time keeping. We will organise a similar event in a few weeks time. Lastly I would like to thank all the footballers who behaved and played brilliantly on the day.

We kept going right to the end in a really tough game, I can't ask more than that.

Positives - Good attitude throughout.

Learning Points - We need to be first to rebounds, a big lesson from today.

Captains Player of the Mtach - John for good tackling, use of the ball and working hard for the team.

Coaches Award - Gareth, excellent skill along with giving everything for the team right to the end.

Sunday 28th September: Wanborough 3 - Old Town 4

What a change from our last match! It was great to see everyone playing together much more this week. I was really pleased to hear you encouraging each other throughout the game and also watching you pass more rather than keeping the ball. This made the game really exciting and you were unlucky to finish on a score of 3-4.

Goal scorers: Liam C-M, Liam H and Miles.
Captain's player of the match: Liam H - great play in defence
Coaches player of the match: Cameron - excellent positioning throughout the game.

Wanborough 2 - Highworth10
The first half of the match saw Highworth dominating as the stronger side going in at half time 8-1 up.
The second half was a much better team effort - it was pleasing to see that you listened to the half-time team talk which was demonstrated by you trying to win more tackles which made it harder for Highworth to score.
Today's game was a learning curve to many players in the team; we needed to be first to the ball and had to win tackles in order to keep posession - some good points to remember for our next match!
